Wayne Gretzky once said the quote, “You will miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” To me, this quote means that if you never take a chance, you will never know if you can succeed or not. If you don’t try, you will never really know. It is really important to at least take a chance with some things in life. You might succeed, you might fail. You never know, you might even end up succeeding and going on the right path. . Failing isn’t a great thing to go through, but if you really try with something, that is all that will matter. When you don’t risk the chances of failing and winning, you won’t get anything out of life.

The quote can relate to me a lot. Sometimes, I’m really scared to do something I want to try, Like realistic drawing or story writing. It can be really hard, and you never know if someone’s opinion is just them being nice or telling you the honest truth. But, If you don't try, you’ll never know. So I have to take the chance with people and learn that constructive criticism comes in various ways, whether it be Over-niceness or rudeness. I risk it and I write and draw. Usually, people DO genuinely enjoy my works, and that boost my self confidence a lot. I’m really happy that I do take chances and I’m not afraid to show off my artwork most of the time.

Dr. Suess once said “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.” This quote is so deep and meaningful. What Dr. Suess is saying is to Be yourself and speak out against the crowd. The people that will matter the most to you will be the ones to accept you, Like family. Your family is by your side to  accept you for the person that you are, No matter how different you may be. If the person you thought cared about you doesn’t agree with your actions and how you feel, they aren’t a person who you should care about. The people that care about you will cope with you and learn to love you for who you are. The people who judge you because you’re a little (Or a lot) Different from them are people who don’t matter. It’s all a matter of ignorance and not being able to see how other people want to live their lives. It’s hypocrisy Your true friends and family stay by your side.

This quote relates to me a lot in everyday life. I’m a bit different than others because I have a strong interest in Hard-Horror and Macabre.  When I first began drawing and practicing it, I remember being judged and talked about a lot for it. I was only young, around the age of eight or nine. I was really sad and anti-social because of it. But, I had a friend who was always there for me, alongside my caring and accepting family. They were actually the ones who sparked my interest in the area of art.I really appreciate, To this day, the people who enjoy my art and encourage me every day with every piece. It boosts my self-confidence and gets me through my day. It helps me disregard the others who look down upon it or make fun of it. In conclusion, Dr. Suess’ quote, “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.” makes me feel proud to be who I am.
